FAQs
Where do you provide treatment ?
My practice is telehealth based. I can see patients residing in Illinois.
Is seeing a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner the same as seeing a Psychiatrist ?
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) and Psychiatrists are both trained to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions using medications and psychotherapy. Numerous studies have shown that patient outcomes for NPs are equivalent to, and sometimes better than, those of physicians. For example, research has demonstrated that NPs provide care with comparable quality, effectiveness, and patient satisfaction as physicians in various settings, including primary care and specialty practices (AANP) (BMJ).
Do you take insurance ?
I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and also welcome patients who prefer to pay out-of-pocket or use out-of-network benefits. I am committed to providing the highest quality, personalized care. For patients with out-of-network insurance, I can provide a detailed superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service.
What should I do if my child is in crisis or needs immediate help ?
For immediate crises, seek emergency care by calling 911, visiting the nearest emergency room, or contacting a crisis hotline like the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988. While my practice is not equipped to provide emergency services, I can offer guidance, resources, and referrals to help you navigate these situations. Remember, you are not alone, and there is always help available.
